This barn conversion holiday home surrounded by picturesque Herefordshire countryside is a true rural escape. Comfortable, pleasing to the eye and offering a host of features to make your self-catering holiday most pleasurable.
Step through the front door of the cottage into a spacious hallway which has plenty of space to hang outdoor clothing, boots and a bench to sit on to remove footwear in comfort. There is a dog or cat crate where your pet may be left for short periods, also plenty of room to place your own dog bed.
The kitchen and living area is light and airy with an open-plan arrangement. Doors from the sitting section open out onto the garden where there is a table and chairs and the opportunity to dine outdoors on balmy days.
You will find everything that you need to prepare meals and drinks to keep your family content in the kitchen. In addition to the usual kitchen appliances, there is a big American-style fridge/freezer that has an ice dispenser for drinks, a wine refrigerator and a separate grill.
A large oak table in the dining room seats eight people. It also has a seating section which is another relaxing space where guests could listen to music or read.
The TV in the living room has access to Netflix so that you can always find something of interest to watch as you relax on the soft sofas. An electric log-style fire provides heat and light without any mess.
A separate utility room contains a washing machine with a dryer, iron and ironing board plus cleaning tools. The ground-floor shower room has a WC and washbasin which is useful during the day and also serves as the shower room for the downstairs king-size bedroom. This bedroom contains zip-link beds which can be unzipped to form two single beds if preferred.
Stairs from the open-plan living room lead upstairs to the other three bedrooms and another cloakroom with WC and washbasin. The largest bedroom has a wide superking bed, smart TV and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower over. The second bedroom upstairs contains a kingsize bed and the third has a flexible kingsize/twin ziplink bed.
All bedding is of a superior quality with Egyptian cotton bedlinen, hypo-allergenic duvets and comfortable Hypnos mattresses.
A garden made for relaxation
Outdoor garden games provide a chance for a family to play badminton, cricket or football. Rattan garden furniture stands on the patio from May until the end of October and beside it is a gas barbecue and a six-person hot tub. A double hammock may prove an attractive place to sleep off a hearty lunch.
Extremely dog-friendly property
In addition to the dog crate, drinking water bowl and a feeding mat, dog poop bags are provided, a towel for muddy paws and a few treats to keep your pet happy. We have a policy of a maximum two dogs and each is subject to an additional fee. Dogs must be kept on lead when walking on trails through fields because we are in farming country.
Short breaks and changeover days
For maximum flexibility, our holiday home can be booked by the week, or for a short break, three night weekend breaks beginning on a Friday, or four night mid-week breaks from a Monday. Weekly breaks can begin on a Monday or Friday. The only time that this changes is during the festive period when we try to accommodate sensible periods for Christmas and New Year.
Possible activities in the area
Guests always enjoy country walks and cycling in the surrounding area. There is also a coarse fishing lake within walking distance from the cottage. Bring own equipment but a complimentary license is available to guests on arrangement in advance. There is a host of things to do in South Herefordshire and plenty of places to visit in the surrounding 50 miles or so. Find castles, stately homes, gardens, the Wye Valley
Good housekeeping bond
A £200 Good Housekeeping bond is requested on the day of arrival. This is usually done by authorising that payment on your card and this is only taken if deemed necessary. This payment will be cancelled within seven days after your stay as long as the property is left in a good tidy condition. Minor accidental breakages are not counted.
