Dumfries and Galloway is a large county found on the West Coast of Scotland, just North of England’s Lake District. Perhaps best known for Gretna Green which has become renowned for runaway weddings, Dumfries and Galloway is also home to lush green forests, beautiful sandy shores and great historic spots that take you back to times gone by.

There are a number of great towns in Dumfries and Galloway from beautiful coastal villages to the highest village in Britain. There are also many forest and country parks as well as superb scenic areas that are perfect for outdoor pursuits. Dumfries and Galloway has a wonderful romantic history with the world famous Old Blacksmiths shop at Gretna Green where you can hear about the couple who ran away to tie the knot in this beautiful county.
