Barn Conversion with exposed beams, Village, Countryside views over hills

Cae Madog Barn is a large, luxury, barn nestled at the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. It has its own heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, which make the most of the peace and tranquillity of the setting and the spectacular views across the valley. It is suited to a large family party or a group of friends as it sleeps 16 adults and 2 infants and is large enough to allow everyone enough space to find a quiet corner to read or lounge in the garden listening to the cries of the red kites circling above. The Barn is laid out over 2 main wings, having a total of 7 bedrooms; 2 king, 2 double, 2 twin and a children's room with 2 full size sets of bunks. There are 4 bathrooms, one being en suite to the master bedroom. All of the rooms have exposed beams and feature stone walls are to be found throughout the property. Linking both areas of the Barn is a large fully-fitted country kitchen with 2 fridges, a range cooker, microwave, dishwasher tumble dryer and washing machine, leading to a large dining room, where everyone can sit together for a family meal. Leading on from this is the huge vaulted lounge, with 5 settees, a wide screen t.v., log burner and access onto the secure decked area which has ample seating and a huge barbecue. There is an further sitting room with a widescreen t.v. and Nintendo Wii, with an air hockey table to be found in another hallway area. Outside, there is an extensive decked area, allowing a secure play space for small children and somewhere to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery, with only the sound of birdsong and the drone of insects to interrupt you. The heated pool is safely gated and is included in the price of your rental from Easter to September, but can be available outside of these dates depending on weather. The hot tub is located in a log cabin and allows you to soak up the view of the countryside towards the Cambrian Mountains. The Barn has a separate games room with a pool table and parking for up to 5 cars. There is superfast broadband throughout the property. All bedding is included but we ask guests to provide their own towels. The Barn is dog-friendly, allowing up to 4 well-behaved pets, with a small additional fee payable for the extra cleaning. Mid Wales is one of the least populated and healthiest places to visit in the U.K., allowing you to enjoy a stress-free holiday amidst beautiful scenery. Aberdyfi, Barmouth, Aberystwyth and Harlech are all an easy drive away, with their clean, safe beaches. The market town of Machynlleth, with its proximity to epic mountain bike trails and the quirky Centre for Alternative Technology is a short drive from the Barn, with the magnificence of Powis Castle a similar distance. Snowdonia is an easy drive from the Barn and offers spectacular views and a myriad of hiking opportunities for the more adventurous. Clywedog Lake has some of the best fly fishing in the country and is only 15 minutes away from you, with the Hafren Forest just on the doorstep too.

Description

Just Amazing-definitely book

'This was our first family holiday in a long time and we decided to do it over Christmas week. After a long drive we arrived to a warm, lit and welcoming barn. The owners Gemma and Simon had left out a bowl of chocolates and a gift of cake and biscuits, this was a lovely touch. They had decorated the house, with a Christmas tree, fairy lights and light up optic tress, our little ones loved it. There was fairy liquid, dishwasher tablets, pepper/salt,tea,sugar and toilet roll to get us started.

We wanted a remote location and cae madog really delivered, the views from the barn itself are fantastic, it's a quiet and the owners leave you to it, but are also friendly and quick to help if you need it.The pictures on the website do not do the place justice, the rooms are spacious and tidy. Lots of space for everyone to be together but for everyone to escape and hide if we had enough of each other. The pool was warm and used frequently, the hot tub was a big favourite with everyone as well. The games room is away from the house so no need to worry about noise waking anyone in the house. Plenty of parking, two highchairs, two cot beds, tumble drier, large oven, well stocked games cabinet and leaflets about the area which were very helpful. If you have walkers in your group ,take an os map as we found a lovely walk in the hills opposite the barn and could then look back at the barn. There is something for everyone at cae madog if you have look at this place and thought about booking, don't think, book it. I and my family(16 of us) had a lovely time. We will most definitely book again'

There were 16 of us on this holiday and none of us felt crowded. The barn is arranged across two wings, 4 bedrooms in one and 3 in the other and the public areas are large and comfortable.
Our grandsons loved the air hockey table outside their bedroom and the outside games room was well used! The pieces de resistance for me though were the swimming pool and hot tub. Both very clean and very warm! We had so much fun with the children in both.
The stunning view across the valley cannot be ignored and we spent a lot of moments just leaning on the decking rail enjoying it.
Simon, the owner, allowed us to have a get-together of all our extended family on the Sunday and they were all very impressed with Cae Madog and it's situation.
Places of interest including King Arthur's Labyrinth, the beach and pier at Aberystwyth, and the pretty town of Machynlleth are not far away and there was even soft play for the small children!

Stayed for a long weekend with the family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. Beautiful property and amazing views - truly breathtaking. The house is spacious and well equipped and the owners are fab. Would definitely go again as this would take some beating.
