Gilchrist House is a quality four storey cottage by the river in Settle. The cottage has a room on the 2nd floor with beds which can be offered as a king-size double or twins and there is also a sofa bed. On the first floor is a double and a super king-size double (zip/link, can be twin on request), along with a bathroom and an additional basin and WC. Downstairs is a kitchen, dining room with open fire and a sitting room with open fire and on the lower ground floor is a games room with multi-use games table with pool and table tennis and dart board. There is also storage for bikes etc. in the cellar. Off road parking is available in a yard opposite the property, and there is a communal, front, riverside, grassed park with benches. Gilchrist House offers easy access to both the Dales and the Lakes national parks, making it a wonderful year-round base to explore the area. Note: There are 5 steep steps leading to one of the cottage entrances.Note: Bookings which are for more then 2 weeks at a length will not be accepted.
Situated in the south-west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the bustling market town of Settle. Nestled beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes - this pretty little town is set against a backdrop of some of the most picturesque scenery in North Yorkshire. Every Tuesday, the town's market place is filled with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts and goods whilst throughout the rest of the week the local businesses surrounding the market place thrive. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and the town also boasts an excellent public swimming pool. Three days a week, the Victoria Hall is transformed into a cinema, providing visitors with all the activities of a larger town. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway is also a huge draw and runs regular trips across some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country.

This is the largest county in England, found in the north of the country it encompasses the majority of two National parks as well as a beautiful coastline. The beautiful Yorkshire Dales, the Yorkshire Moors and the Vale of York are all fantastic regions in this wonderful county and are just waiting to be explored. Each area boasts some of the most magnificent scenery and landscape in England involving unspoilt countryside, quiet villages and towns and buildings full of charm and character. You may even find a delightful tea room or country pub to enjoy a light snack or pub lunch. The county is ideal for walking enthusiasts and cyclists but it is also full of many other exciting opportunities from hot air ballooning to pot-holing. Spend the day investigating some of the wonderful historical stately homes or take a steam train ride through the stunning landscape. Whatever you choose to do during your stay you will be happy in the knowledge that you have a comfortable, well presented luxury cottage to return to at the end of the day. You may even choose to book a Luxury cottage with hot tub for some extra special relaxation.
