Located in the heart of the Cheviots, Elsdon is known as the historic capital of Redesdale and is the 'perfect Northumbrian village'. Nestled on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, Elsdon boasts an ancient parish church, one of the finest pele towers in Northumberland, and the remains of a motte and bailey castle, all surrounding the teardrop-shaped village green. As the largest settlement within the National Park, Elsdon serves as an ideal starting or finishing point for walkers and cyclists exploring the stunning countryside. The local tearoom is a beloved stop for many visitors, adding to the village's charm.
